Just thought I would rage here instead of continuing my anger....poor hubby has taken my wrath over the past couple of days.

My Mother is a miserable, biggoted, old witch.....
She will never accept my boys as being family....we adopted them and as far as she is concerned they are not blood ...so shouldnt have the family name etc......

J as you know has ASD and to top the insensitive comments I have received from her over the past couple of months, she took it upon herself to send me a DVD for christmas.......

Written on the gift tag..."Thought this might help YOU UNDERSTAND. With affection. Mother xx"

The DVD......RAINMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaysmum, I feel for you! Blood has nothing to do with family at all IMO, I get this all the time from my inlaws, it's 'blood's thicker than water bla bla', it's a load of C**P! You and your boys are the real family, if she carries on like that you should disown her from your family! Sounds like she's the one who doesn't 'Understand'!!!

Dont worry I HATE THE COW!!!!!!....just got a call from my sis who told me the old dragon was not too amused with J's present to her.....
a copy of the book..."How to win friends and influence people"....just hope she reads it!!!!!
I just would have loved to see her face when she opened it....sis said it was like thunder!!!!!!

That's awful.

My neice and nephew were both adopted from Korea, and while my in-laws can at times be slightly bigotted and racist (I think it's just a product of their ages), their grandchildren are all equally precious and the adopted ones are just as much family as the rest.

Jaysmum, sorry your mum's being so awful/hurtful. I don't believe the 'blood is thicker than water' rubbish either. IMO being a parent is the person who clears up the vomit, does the taxi run to school every day, changes the beds, gives the hugs etc. - it has nothing to do with blood ties. She's the one who's missing out on being part of your fab family.

My sis is sooo on my side. She referred herself for ASD assessment when she was 24 (she is now 34)....all throughout her childhood she knew she was different....had real problems forming relationships, loads of sensory probs, problems understanding the world around her. Our demon Mother did nothing to help her....and I must admit I called my sister a weirdo and a freak a few too many times - something I am now deeply ashamed of.
My Mother would not accept any help or listen to the teaching staff at our school when they expressed their concerns. It just wasnt the done thing for my Mother to have a child labelled "not quite right"....wouldn't have looked good!!!! My sister was dx with Aspergers - although my mother will not accept the "mumbo jumbo" the doctor told my sister she has!!!!!!
I think my Mother is the original Mrs Bucket....all kippers and curtains....her life revolves around the golf club and its ladies lunches!!!!!
She made my sisters life hell and now Sis has cut ties with the old bat, Mother has moved on to me and my family.......
Well not any more...........
Quite liberating excomunicating one self from the family!!!!!!
