Wellies over shoes/boots?

Who was it who cunningly managed to get wellies over their piedros? I'm sure it was someone here. Any hints/tips? Do you have to cut them down or something? Or just get really huge ones and hope they don't fall over too much?

I want to know this too - I've given up for the moment but if anyone has any tips or other ideas....

Or any other ways to enable a piedro-wearing child to go in water?

DS has a large raise on one shoe, so I doubt wellies would fit on top.

sturdy plastic bags and elastic bands or gaffa tape. Maybe combined with waterproof trousers. and more tape.
