Autistic daughter (7) won’t wipe her own bottom

It’s driving us all crazy. She’s 7 and will not try to wipe her bottom after going to the toilet. She refuses point blank to try because she’s worried she will either get sore, not do it properly or get it on her hands. Iv tried flushable wipes etc but she just won’t do it. She would happily sit there for hours I think without giving in.

I don’t think it helps that she has a milk allergy and if she has something with it in by accident she ends with with diarrhoea.

help :(

Would swapping the toilet to a wash and dry toilet be possible?

Has DD had an OT assessment?

What is DD like with sensory play e.g. play-doh, kneading dough, shaving foam?

I still wipe both my kids, but what does help with the older one is have me constantly reassuring him that if he tries, he can have a shower right after to make sure he won't get sore.

Could you do this?

Following in the hope someone has suggestions.

Have you tried the Eric website, they have exercises which build up dexterity, like cleaning chocolate sauce off a plate.
