Moving to a specialist school in the new year

My child is 7 and is starting in a specialist school in the new year. He’s very bright and eloquent and likely high functioning autistic. We’ve had several meltdowns at home over the holidays which he has been able to articulate as his anxiety about moving schools. He’s got a good graduated introduction plan for school and has visited, worn the uniform etc.

Can anyone make some suggestions about how we could help him over the next couple of weeks into the new school, any good books to look at, or anyone else’s experience of what they did in a similar situation please? Thanks.

Lots of downtime outside of school.

Does DS have photographs/video of the school/classroom/hall/staff in his classroom etc.? That can ease the anxiety of the unknown.
