DS2 (7 with AS)announced this morning at breakfast that he was "going to get a gang of children together to play tig with in the playground". He has announced good intentions about playing before but never ends up carrying them out and ends up skipping up and down the same bit of playground over and over again all on his lonesome. I said good for you and told him he could try it for a few minutes to see if he liked it and pointed out that he likes chasing games with his brothers at home. To my amazement he carried out his plan and was soon running around being chased by a little girl with a big grin on his face. As he lined up to go in he said "Actually, that was quite good fun", I had to get my hankie out! . These moments mean a lot and go to show that you can tell your kids over and over how to do things but they will only do them when they feel ready and you must trust them as much as you can.

How lovely! Now he has done it once, hopefully he can build on it.
