as it will mostly be sn and on a shoestring, top tips for cheap food please. and can I get away with not doing party bags(she will be 13) and wants games like pass the parcel.

sausage rolls and fruit shoots

um - cocktail sausages, crisps, baguettes with philadelphia, peanuts (if no allergy issues with guests), and of course CAKE

I was thinking of fruit shoots. dd loves them. I am not doing presents. just prizs.

I reckon all kids really want as prizes and going away bags are sweets, and you can get loads of those cheaply. Woolies also has those pinatas, which are good fun (you know, the ones you bash and the sweets fall out). Have a great time!

You could maybe kill 2 birds with one stone and do cake or cookie decorating as a "game" and then they get to take their creation home?

if you didn't want to do actual fruit shoots you could get the tropicana ones which are in similar bottles but are fruit juice as opposed to chemical laiden water esp if chance of children reacting to the additives.

borrow a chocolate fountain and have sticks with marshmallows/fruit/whatever you fancy dipping - if you can't get a chocolate fountain just melt a bowl of chocolate over a pan and put it out - will stay melted for about 5-10 minutes penty of time for dipping (get them to do that on way out the door as you can then send them home covered in chocolate .

for food you could do normal basics, sausages/sausage rolls/crisps and an abundence of cake.

altrnatively get a few pizzas and some chicken nuggets and cook those with waffles/smily faces/chips.
