Flagging this depressing article in The Guardian. I'm guessing it will come as no surprise to many of us:

Many saw this coming when the DBV programme was first talked about months ago. I have already had 2 LAs wrongly tell me the law has changed.

It is a sad state, it won’t improve though unless more of society care about the treatment of disabled children.

I am raging about it. Everyone should be.

As a teacher it enrages me and as a parent it terrifies me.

It is obscene.

That article is shocking, just glad we are near the end of having an ehcp.
Dd is now 22.
Feel for everyone else in the ehcp system.

• The number of new EHCPs for children and young people with ASD, SEMH and SLC primary needs grew ~20% more quickly than the number of EHCPs for children with other primary needs between 2020 and 2022. We want to understand how to best support this cohort and what is driving this increase.
