although knowing me lea i wouldnt be surprised, the boss of sen was furious that we got the placement and dx on the statement last year, she was thumping the desk saying "you cannot have it both ways jen, you cannot have the school of your choice and the dx its one or the other"

he,s not having any more asessments, he,s had 2 years of loads, if they start making noises like this ill get a solicitor involved.

i just dont trust them especially after what happened with dd the other week.

. you'ld think the obvious explanation that he was doing well at the private school is because the private school knows how to deal with kids with ASD, so it's a good environment for him.

'You can not have the school of your choice and a dx' Wow! Like you won the top prize there! Your ds has asd, a life-long disability and gets to go to a school for other affected children........bet you didn't know you had it so good, huh?

Sometimes I wish I had a magic wand and could give these people just 24 hours of living with an ASD child, so that they never ever made stupid ignorant judgements again from a total lack of knowledge. Unbelievable! Would they say such things if it was a physical disability rather than a mental one - trouble is, autism is the "invisible" disability and therefore everyone can think they're an expert!

well dd has a physical disability, she has hemiplegia and wears piedro boots and her bowels/bladder are affected yet her nursery dont consider she is disabled because

"well she walks, runs,jumps and she can climb a climbing frame if an adult is holding her hand"

oh right so she wears those boots that cost the nhs over £100 for fun does she and the wheelchair that was given to us for a laugh as well?

I think I would have thumped the person who uttered those crass remarks and I am not prone to violence at all. At the very least I probably would have said in a quiet but menacing tone, "What planet are you on?".

How dare they also say to you, "you cannot have the school of your choice and the dx; its one or the other!". What planet are these people in exactly?. Reminds me of the woman who was visited by the council at home who accused her of asking for a "Rolls Royce service". Think you are completely right to be mistrustful of them.

PP in this area at least work far too closely with the LEA to my liking and are in cahoots with them.

Another thing you could do is speak to IPSEA and get their views.

Yes the DX comment is absolutely disgraceful too - DX is a medical fact (or should be if it weren't for the politics).
