Taxi service for SEN child

Hello everyone,

Please can someone suggest a good taxi service to do school run in south west London?

My LA has just given me a travel budget for my son with high functioning autism with high anxiety. They refused to provide taxi. His school is about 3.5 miles from home. I enquired with one taxi service, they charged a minimum of £30 per journey! The budget LA provides is not much, so I cannot afford to pay £60 a day for school transport.

I would be so grateful if you could suggest reliable cab services.

Many thanks in advance!

Have they given you a mileage allowance? I don’t think that would be enough to cover an actual taxi, which usually costs the LA much more.

If you want the LA to commission the transport and don’t want a budget, push back. You do not need to accept it. If you need help challenging it SENTAS can help.

Thanks for your response openupmyeagereyes. I got a travel budget which is paltry. You're right , it won't cover even one way.

Thanks so much Relaxinghammock for pointing me to sentas. I didn't know about them. I am definitely going to appeal. At the moment spending loads on uber and losing so much time doing the school run.
