How do you get your autistic child to sleep (7yo)

He used to be quite straight forward but now he just cannot settle at all. He had a wonderful stage of just "turning on a dream" but now that seems to have ended. We are mostly doing the come back every 7 minutes thing, but dh is not doing a great job so he ends up downstairs screaming most nights. And then flakes out at about 9.50pm.

Can anyone else share their successes?

Melatonin from the doctor. In my experience many autistic kids are immune to the usual sleep hygeine stuff around good routine, no screens before bed, milky drink etc.

Melatonin isn’t sleeping meds per se, it’s a hormone many neurodiverse kids don’t produce properly so really just a supplement
