House/school move with ASD DC

We live in an expensive/posh area and were due to move in 2020 to a still nice but cheaper area to have much more space and garden.

Unfortunately due to lockdowns and our jobs we ended up in a lot of debt and were unable to get a mortgage to go forward with our move as planned.

Meantime, DS had to start school and has had ASD/ADHD diagnosis. He loves the school and is very well settled, the kids are wonderful and he has a best friend. It’s nothing short of miraculous.

I am loathe to move him as I feel it will massively disrupt his happiness and education.

Equally, having significantly more space and a better quality of life due to less financially stressed parents would benefit him.

What would you prioritise? Do we push to stay in expensive area and compromise on quality of home/life for all of us but retain school stability/friends. Or go for cheaper area, move schools and risk DS mental health?
