I can't believe Im going to post this but I desperately need to know if this has happened to anyone else's child . So my ASD 8 year.old has struggled with constipation basically all his life, it is now basically for the most part sorted with pro biotics. But when he's not had them for a while it comes back a bit and he will end up with dirty underwear ect. Now I know smearing is common ,playing with it, all that. A couple of years ago when it was bad he would smear it on the walls. But, sometimes after he's put his hands in his pants he will lick his fingers after. It honestly makes me want to throw up. I know it's not his fault and it's all sensory but oh my god, there's food he won't even go near but he will put his fingers in his mouth after that. I just want to know if any one else has experienced this cause I can't find it anywhere on Google. I don't know wether to make appointment with GP tbh.

There’s ERIC s National charity who have a helpline. You can google the number. They might know if you get no answers on here. GP might be worth trying too. I think through the GP you might be able to access continence clinics for advice/ support or can you go back to who did ASD diagnosis for advice/help?

Thanks very much! It's not a constant issue its only when his constipation flares up. I was thinking GP in regards to health as it can't be healthy can it. He will do it as casually as picking nose and eating it
