Help any ideas what to buy ds2

I am at a complete loss at what to buy him.
He is 2 1/2 has problems with expressive and receptive language and can't concentrate for more than a couple of minutes.
We bought him a mamas and papas rocking caterpillar last year which he loves but he is getting to big for so we had wondered about getting him a rocking horse.The thing that worries me is that he has always rocked himself and gone into his own little world.Is encouraging that behaviour a good idea.
The only other thing he shows any interest in is aeroplanes and dolls .But I think the doll thing is just learnt play from watching his 2 older sisters.
I am going to stop now as this isn't making any sense.

Would he be able to use a hobby horse?

He would probably fall over it or maybe hit me with it.

Why not get him a rocking horse if that's what he likes doing? You can always redirect him in between and going on his horse can be his 'down time'.
On another note, does he like trains? My DS (who's NT, as far as any of can make out but we're no experts) loves them. Particularly battery operated ones. Has he got a bubble machine? (ELC do a great one)?

Like the bubble machine idea not sure about trains he just seems to throw everything at me at the moment.The other thing he likes is balls but how many does 1 little boy need.

ps Has he got a pop up goal? (ELC, again). They are great and they may get him to use his balls in a more 'functional' manner?!!!!!!!! My DS particularly likes it if I'm in goal

Good idea give him an excuse to kick it at me.
He caught me full in the face at the portage playgroup last week.
May help get rid of some frustration though.

Basketball hoop or one of those soccer net things with openings at different heights/sizes to throw things through.

have you seen the large wooden marble runs that have a little bell at the bottom? the one we have is made by a company called pinolino -its not one that you have to construct, i bought mine off ebay after seeing my ds2 play with it for hours at a friends house
