If your child has a carer, do you take them to the carer's house, or do they get picked up?

We used to care for a boy with autism and his parents generally dropped him off then collected him later. Occasionally we would pick him up but not often. It was the parents' choice though. We were happy either way.

They come and get the toad.
They know I don't drive and they are usually going out anyway so it works for both of us.
How's life going?

I just wonder how it works. I take DD1 to her carer's each week, it wasn't a problem when we only lived about 2 miles from her house, but now we have moved and so has she, and I am doing 20 miles to get her there and back again.

dd's carers care for her in our house. She's too little to go off IMO.
But if I askded for out of house they'd come fetch her.

The carer doesn't drive. I agreed with doing the driving, but that was before we moved and then she moved too. I lose about 1 hour of the day just driving there, dropping her off, driving home, driving there, picking her up and driving home again.

I care for a lovely young boy with autism and I usually care for him at his own home as it is more geared up for him but if on the rare occasion I care for him in my home I pick him up but it is only about 1 mile away and my time starts from when I leave my house. Both of his parents drive btw.

In my experiance it has always been working with the child in their own home or picking them up from home and taking them out for the day.

when we had a link family we shared it. so if I dropped her off they would bring her home.
