After applying a week or two ago.

he is 11 & autistic, has learning & delays, severe anxiety, traits or OCD (no official diagnosis for OCD), as well as sensory processing issues and possible dyspraxia and motor planning difficulties. He gets DLA and I used a recent OT assessment to apply as evidence as well as his EHCP.

I am so glad he’s got one. He is prone to bolting and this is getting harder to manage now he’s older and stronger. I also have a younger child with a mild physical disability, who I have not got a blue badge for due to lack of evidence and it doesn’t impact her hugely.

but I am so nervous about using it, I hear so many stories about people being approached and asked why they have a blue badge for disabilities they aren’t visible. My sons need aren’t always obvious to most people straight away.

I get anxiety and the thought of people asking why my son has a blue badge or saying anything to else makes me anxious. I am likely autistic myself and find social interaction hard!!

many advice?

other than growing a back bone of course 😂

Don’t let what other people think stop you from using it. Ignore anyone questioning you/saying you shouldn’t be using the space, you have to do what is best for you/DC.
