Hi, our LA informed us last week that our EHCNA application was successful for our 7yo son in mainstream primary. He definitely has very severe anxiety (school related) and possibly ASD and SPD.
He has only been at the school for half a term and has been served several fixed term exclusions. School now saying permanent exclusion likely if he carries on as he is.
I have two questions that I’d love some advice on please:
-
I have read that school have £6000 to spend on additional support for children. Is this right? I am almost 100% certain that school hasn’t spent near this amount on support for our son at the time he’s been at the school. Do school need to prove that they have spent this on our child (and the results of the interventions noted) in order for an EHCP to be issued? I.e to prove that additional support is needed, or that school can’t give him enough support with the resources that they have. We have asked school for some more formal 121 support for him than he has had, which was met with a luke warm response, but believe (from past experience) that this could really help him.

if he is excluded during the six weeks when EHC assessments are taking place what will happen?
Many thanks
