Hello and happy new year all.

I have been looking into More House and Kingswood House for our DS10 recently confirmed to have ASD as well as mild inattentive ADHD subtype.

Fwiw, our son is a very mild mannered, a kind gentle soul, with high IQ, and a love of maths/science etc. His main challenges are social skills, staying focused on subjects which aren’t of interest, and producing work reflecting is real ability.

Does anyone happen to have recent experiences of either school with a child with a similar sounding profile and can provide feedback on how they nurture and develop the children?

Also, if there is any experience of what is offered in terms of other subjects at GCSE (in particular MoreHouse where I cannot see very detailed info on their website) etc, that would be insightful. In addition, do they have deadlines like typical mainstream schools for access to year 7 onwards. Presently our son is Y5.

Any insight on these schools or other suggestions of course will be gratefully received. Thank you 😊

Hi. Sorry for late reply. My DS is currently year 5 at kingswood house. Sounds very similar profile. He has thrived since joining the school. He’s very happy and is a very nurturing place. Please feel free to DM if you have any qus

Hi,

i hope you don’t mind me jumping in the conversation. I’m desperately looking for a good school for my boy. He’s so bright, on hud level in all subjects but is bring victimised in his current school as my relationship broke down with them. His ECHP now says special provision but he just need empathetic approach and smaller class than 30. I read Kingston is not special school? Can you give some info please. Thank you xx
