Does anyone know of a group in cardiff that I could attend with 8 month old with cerebral palsy. Would like somewhere with other special needs babies/children and parents.

sorry cant help, but maybe check with your Health Visitor or Paed or Physio etc if there is a special needs Toy Library anywhere you could go to

I found ours invaluable when mine were younger

wish they could still go now!!!!

Blue Fairy
I have just started a SN toddler group in Cardiff in Rhiwbina area three weeks ago. It is every Wednesday 1-3 at Rhiwbina Baptist Church, Lon Isa. My mobile is 07948300340 if you want more details. It would be great to see you both there.

If there is anyone else on here that would like to come or if you know anyone it would benefit then it is open to everyone. It is early days so there are only four or five of us. There wasn't anywhere I could take my son who has social communication problems (yet to be dx) without major traumas. I was amazed/ gutted there wasn't anything. I did the ringing around thing and decided to try and change it as I am/ was desparate to have something to go to where we weren't judged. I have done it with someone from early years who has done one in tremorfa if that is more your area. She is great and brings activities every week and is going to arrange trips. There is a coffee tomorrow at Rhiwbina Clinic that the SN Health Visitor does for her patch. It is at 10.30 I am going but at 11 ish. This happens every couple of months.

Hope this helps. If you find any other stuff let me know!

Thanks for all your responses, I am a nanny who was going to be looking after the child I mentioned, but this hasnt worked out. I will pass your responses onto her mother though, as she wants to attend some groups with her DD.

Spacegirl, your group sounds ideal, I am very close so that would have been great. But as I say I will still try and get her involved.

thanks everyone! x

Come to think of it, I am now available and looking to do some work with SN children. I can be flexible, just looking to get more experience in the area. Spacegirl, if you hear of anyone who may need a hand, or if you want some help with the toddler group I could perhaps lend a hand...?
