Today, I have had such good news, I could cry.

Today we have had his yearly review, and because I bullied the senco in september, every was invited early enough to come .
The good news is, ds age 9 (yr 5) has moved from p4 in Reading, Writing, Maths and Science. To 1c in Reading and Writing and a 1b in Maths and TWO C in Science.
You could of knocked me down with a feather. TWO F ing C that is NINE sublevels in a Year. Then we had to talk about secondary provision, which wasn't so good; but I don't care NINE sublevels is all I heard, even when they were talking a weekly boarding school for him (WTF ... noo way) I just sat there grinning like a cat.
My baby is so clever and so brilliant, I am so proud. It is up there with when he first said mummy when he was 6.

I am so proud, I cried and cried and cried some more.
I even rang my dad up at work and told him, which was probably not a good idea as he was about to go into a meeting and all he could hear was me crying, and promptly shouted down the phone (he only ever shouts on the phone, he never talks on it!) what the bloody hell is wrong. oops.

thankyou sphil and welovetelegraphpoles. Life is strange, he has a new 1:1 and she is great. Ds can't read or write very well at all, he is at a 5 yr olds level. But, he has come on so well with his speaking in the last 3 yrs he does most of his work with his 1:1 as his scribe.

Parenting a child with SN is like being on a rollercoaster. Well remember ds ringing me from the school office with teacher sobbing in the background to say SATS results were in and he got a level 5 in English. And they said at diagnosis he'd never hold a pen. And they also said impossible that he wouldn't have severe mental incapacity. "On a scale of 1 to 10, Mrs X, your boy is a 7."

Enjoy! All that hard work deserves some treats this weekend - for all of you.

Many congrats. We have kids coming to us at secondary level on a level 3. He's got the rest of this year and all of next year to go. If he can get up to high level 2s and level 3s then that's really good (and sounds likely)

PS. I'm a proud mummy too today. DS1's report came through and its BRILLIANT and DS2 came out of school clutching a headteacher's award for always doing his best. I don't often get to feel smug but I do today!!!

Thank you all so very much, we are very, very proud of him.
Last night I asked him what he would like to do this weekend as he is so special and we are so proud of him. He said he wants to go and watch the rugby with my dad, so no change there then! he is such a grandad's boy.
But, we will think of something nice to do as well, this is too amazing to not celebrate.
He was a prem baby of 27 weeks and weighed 750g, he has cp and gdd, he was on o2 for a year and we were told he would be unable to walk, talk, see, swallow or hear. He isn't to great at walking [understatement] but he has proved the doctors wrong slowly but surely over the years with every other aspect of his life. We just can't get the grins of our faces.
