Applying to mainstream indy schools with a remote education assessment

Hi, new to Mumsnet as I’m moving back to the UK next year.

Has anyone had any issues with applying to mainstream independent schools having concerns if a DC’s remote education assessment has less validity because the assessment tools were designed to be used face-to-face?

We need to reassess our DS and think a UK psychologist would be better, albeit travelling to the UK won't be possible in the near future. Still, we need an assessment report before school registration deadlines this autumn so a remote assessment would make our lives easier.

I'm hoping schools are more lenient over remote vs in-person education assessment reports after the pandemic.

Thanks!

I can’t help on whether independent schools see remote assessments as less valid, but you may struggle to get an Ed Psych assessment before autumn. At the moment, in the UK, there are long waits for independent EPs so you will need to get lucky with a cancellation for one so soon.
