Pls Pls Pls can you all join me in nagging my sis Dusty star to apply for a job at the Wessex Autistic Society - she would be so so right for the roles they have but lacks the confidence to apply,as has not been in this sort of work for many years. Although looking after Nick every day gives her more expereince in her little finger than any one else applying. So pls nag her into doing it or the masters degree she has just passed and worked so hard for, will be a total waste of time. Oh and she would be brilliant at the job and could really help some of the kiddies there.

Nag away ladies - lets get her to apply xx

Dusty star go for it. By the sounds of it you would be ideal for the job and just think of all of the people you can help!

ooh one of my tutors (who died in a car crash) worked for the Wessex Autistic Society. It sounded really good (and she was wonderful). Do apply- she got loads out of it. I always wanted to set up something similar down here, it sounded so good.

DustyStar - you got me started on applying for benefits for the yars Ds has his treatment - if you can do this stuff on MN, you can do it as a paid job!

Go for it - if picked, you will be an asset to the society!

And what have you to lose? We all get turned down if there is soimeone with more expeience etc, but the experience of the interview is priceless. ALSO they may think of you for another role later - good netorking for returning for work.
Oh, just go for it, DustyStar!

Loads of help on MN fr CVs and job applications, too!

aquariusmum · 17/01/2008 12:16

Dustystar helped me too , with advice and common sense at a time when I was very very low. She should definitely get paid for it, IF she has the energy to do this after looking after her own DS!

coppertop · 17/01/2008 12:27

Go on, Dustystar!

dustystar · 17/01/2008 19:12

Thank you everyone for all the kind words of encouragement though
