Dear mums

I have my DS who has autism and on homeschooling using aba

Could not find aba tutors since nearly a year now...

I have tried all possible adverts online on Facebook and social media... no luck as we are not based in London

I even tried advertising on uni psychology students...

Some people advised me to go on nannies website and advertise..the main criteria is I believe to love working with children and have the will to learn aba..etc

Can u recommend any nanny website?

Or may be aba tutor website that I sm not aware of

Thanks for your help.

I used childcare.co.uk (found someone under the "tutor" section) and got incredibly, incredibly lucky with an absolute gem. I had quite a few knock backs from people who have quite a negative (limited) understanding of what ABA can involve, but got there in the end by approaching possible candidates myself rather than waiting for them to come to me.

Our consultant trained her up and she's done amazing - bringing a lot of added value from of her background in early years education.

We found a few tutors on the same childcare.co.uk website although we didn’t specifically look for tutors. You can look at people’s education and we ended up with those who had degrees in areas such as psychology or who were training to be teachers or had experience with SN kids.

It may also be worth posting on the ABA4ALL and ABA yahoo groups for recommendations.

Have you tried abatutorfinder.com? We did ABA years ago and I got all my tutors from there, don't know if it is still good.

I found two local SAHM who were looking to get into some part time work. The abandoned consultant did two days of training with them. It worked really well. One of them was excellent. I advertised on a local parish magazine.

Hi there, i realised you wrote that message over 6 months ago, but would it be possible to share the details of the tutor you used? I’m at my wits end!! Thank you! 💖

It was a long time ago. The main tutor I had did then go onto be a consultant for home programmes. I lost touch with her but I googled her name and found her linked in page. You could try contacting her through there maybe. The name is Kirsty Rose and she is based in Essex.
