Hello girls

well Cameron met his physiotherepist today a lovely lady called Rachel she came to the house which i have been madly cleaning for her visit.

Babies with Downs SYndrome tend to have what is called low muscle tone, after assessing Cameron she has said his muscle tone is brilliant in his arms and legs and his hand to mouth coordination is great all he needs is some extra help with his neck muscles. So basically he needs to be placed on his tummy twice a day and rattle a rattle above his head to make him use those muscles in his neck to look up and while he is sitting on my lap we need to encourage him to hold his neck up by supporting him to the bear minimum.

Over all it went really well and she was most impressed by our little man.

Love Debbie and Cameron 12+6 weeks xxxx

Fantastic news!!! He is just gorgeous.

coppertop · 10/11/2004 10:46

He's got the most gorgeous little grin, hasn't he? Ds2 tried to touch him through the screen and giggled so it looks as though Cameron has a new member in his fan club.

Excellent news about his muscle tone. You must all be so thrilled.

He really is gorgeous Debsbabe. And doing so well! What precious children you have. Thanks for letting us see the photo and that wonderful poem. I have to admit I'm crying here. My uncle had downs and even though its been 17 years since he died in an accident, I miss him greatly .

JaysMum · 10/11/2004 11:33

Hi all thanks for your messages but it gets better in just a couple of days of physio he has managed to pick his head right up off the mat and do mini press up's (With his legs in the air!) LOL He just amazes me every day. Some people might feel upset to have a baby with downs but in a strange way i feel that he is my little blessing! Sorry i know i am getting mushy now aren't i?

Love Debbie and my little cracker Cameron xxxx

All children are blessings but our children with SN's who struggle a bit more than others to reach small milestones can't help but make those around them that little more proud of them.

I feel very lucky and honored to be Lottie's mum and imagine that you feel exactly the same way about your darling little Cameron. It's not mushy at all.

Mush away!!!
Great news, you have every right to go all mushy, he is a little darling.
I can't descibe the feelings I have for dd, we have this "special bond" and I love all this mush!Make me feel that I am not alone.
