ASD - Do any of your children physically attack strangers during meltdown?

Unfortunately our Daughter has some audio and visual triggers and has gone from attacking us, to members of the public, verbally and physically. She is so big and strong during meltdown that my H can’t help her as she over powers him and today we had a serious incident.

Camhs have just said to carry on going out and about and not let our anxiety over this happening get in the way. She is on low dose of anti-anxiety meds.

I just don’t know what to do. We hardly go out and just when she had a couple of days coping a little better today, she had a complete violent meltdown and had to be restrained - 3 adults had to calm her.

She won’t often wear ear defenders or headphones with music, only occasionally- but the visual trigger is still there with the same outcome.

Help! We don’t know where to go from here
