Why do the DLA ask you to name the person you want to tell them about your child

and then ask for reports from everyone else but?

We named ds2's consultant paed as she has overall control of his care & co-ordinates all the other profs & therapies etc. She sees him every 2 or 3 months & knows him.

So last week we had a letter saying they hadn't made a decision because they asked his school for a report. No problem his teacher says she sent it back,
Today we get another letter & now they have asked for a report from the GP

Who next Father bloody Christmas!

Its not like his CP has gone away in fact he now has an ASD dx to the list that he didn't have last time.

Sorry frustrated rant over!

Na it wont be Father Christmas he is coming around soon, it will be the Easter Bunny tho.

hnag in there. Its a good thing they are getting evidence. My DLA took 18 weeks to sort because they wrote to EVERYONE!!!!

They are as mad as several bags of frogs. [shrug]. As far as I know, they didn't ask for any reports from DD1's list at all - just gave us the money, though to make up for it they lost the form in an office move for a couple of months.

I do agree it's a good sign though, a lot of them get chucked out without even getting to that stage. Fingers crossed that you get it before Easter!

I have a problem with this to, ive not yet applied bit i was looking at the forms online, i dont like the bit where it ask you to name a friend relative so the they can do a referance type thing for you........ im really struggling on this tbh, i do have friends ect ect the know DD really well, but what has DDs DLA got to do with them?? I dont really want my friends knowing about our fiancial stuff ect.

i normally get the sch to fill out that bit and contact the paeditrition.I also send copies of reports two of the first and two of the latest ones.

I Sent copies of OT, SALT & Physio reports & the Paed I named is the same one I named for his original claim. He currently gets high rate mobility mid rate care.
Cutedarlings I had the same problem - on his original application I asked the HV to complete the "someone else who knows your child".
But this time the HV is new, he's left pre school, only just started school & so didn't feel I could ask his teacher & like you I didn't want our friends to know our business, so this time I left it blank.
Maybe thats why they are writing to everyone else. Who knows?
