Got to vent! She is a very close friend.. she knows DS2 very well.. and her own DD has autism! She is known for a "wacky" sense of humour... so I am supposed to be ok with this am I??!

Any chance she's 1) being deeply ironic 2) having one of those 'if I don't laugh I'll cry' beating your head against the wall kind of moments?

You've got to know her to understand what she's like. We all kind of put up with her deeply inappropriate comments and jokes because she's her.. it's odd because I would go mental at anyone else. But she has a heart of gold really.

Just having an exchange of texts with her now where she is apologising saying she would never offend me on purpose.

Sigh.

How can she not know that's offensive???

I haven't a clue. But I had ended up telling her not to worry as she said she feels sick now at the fact that I'd commented.

Thing is I do love her to bits.. and we almost lost her a couple of years ago (breast cancer at age 30 ) but she really does come out with some terrible things!!!
