Where can I get soft, flexible, outdoor shoes over a toddler size 5?

DS is about to grow out of his pre-walkers. They are a bit thin-soled for this time of year outdoors so I'd be happy with something a bit thicker, but it needs to be as flexible as possible as his visual impairment means that he trips over everything and being able to feel the surface under his feet well really helps keep him upright. Clarks and Start-rite stop pre-walkers at a size 5. Has anyone found anything else good?

It may have to be pumps - everyone will think I'm neglecting him when he's out in January in them though...

I know, I know, I've got to learn not to care if I'm expecting him to carry a white stick and not give a toss what anyone else thinks

What about a pair of Crocs? It may be a stupid idea but I just thought, they are light and flexible, bright colour might help and you CAN wear them in winter and with socks. They do a much bigger range on-line than you see in the shops so there might be a sturdier pair that is suitable. Oh, and they are trendy, all the kids love them!

I'll have a look at some, if they're like adult ones they will still be too thick most things end up being very clog-like and stiff as he's very light in relation to the size of his feet. I was just wondering about some leather moccasins - I could make some if I can find a pattern

if its leather moccasin types you're after, I'm sure these come bigger than a 5. Not entirely convinced how good they'll be outdoors, but look warm and flexible

How about Clarks Doodles? Ds has a pair instead of trainers because he doesn't get on well with thick soles. They are quite flexible and soft.
