DS is at a Language unit. He is doing very well and definitely this is the appropriate place for him at the moment. The KS1 section of the unit will be closing in July. Officially the line is the unit will still be there but as staff all changing jobs at end of July, and no children to come in, that seems a fairly pathetic lie. I am waiting to hear what is to happen to DS. Will he be asked to skip a year, despite being developmentally behind the Year he is in now, or will he be expected to move into the parallel mainstream class. I await to see what is suggested. Just wondered what his rights are.....any idea?

Nutmeg, have no idea, but did not want to leave your post unanswered but am sure someone with more knowledge will be along to help.Is there a sn section of the local education authority you can contact? It may be worth posting this in the special educational needs-education section as well.
