I'm asking this question because after 2 years of waiting, her appointment has come up for the end of this week. Her DF, my DH, has been ill with lymphoma for the past year and is currently undergoing chemo. He was admitted to hospital for 7 weeks at the beginning of the year and has just gone back in as a precaution as they think he has an infection.
My DD has clearly been affected by this, as she has become even more defiant than usual (also due to lockdown) but actually has settled right back into school this week, which I was very surprised and pleased by.
Her anxiety hasn't got as bad as it has in the past when she stopped eating and was terrified of germs, washing her hands 20 times a day. But I'm worried that the online assessment is at the wrong time for her - I just don't know what it will be like. She is happy to do it (I said it was a review of how she was doing) - mainly because she gets the day off school, but I don't want to stress her out more.
CAMHS have said they can delay it until April, but we've waited so long - and will things just be the same for us in April anyway? I wondered if anyone had any experience of this - I don't want to know what exactly is in the assessment as I don't want to steer her in any way - but just in terms of the stress it might put her under. They said I can stay in the room with her the whole time and help her to begin with but I will be encouraged to let her do her own thing.
Thanks so much.
