I'm looking for information from a parent of an older child who had a speech regression. My son is 2. By his first birthday he was an advanced talker. We always got comments on how good he was at talking . Not long after that the regression began and he now does not use any words at all. It has been a year now and I cant imagine him talking. I would just like to know if he ever will. Anyone with a child that had a speech regression. Did they get their speech back? Thank you

My ds lost all his speech at about 2.5years and started regaining words at about 4. He's 7 now and although he doesn't have the same level of speech as his peers he can speak in sentences and get his point across.

De had a speech regression at about 18 months. He's nearly 5 now.

He started speaking one words about aged 3, 2 words together about 3.5 and from then he had a burst of language from 4 to now. His speech and language isn't age appropriate but is speaking in sentences and can communicate his needs and also just for conversation.

He's in reception now and goes to a mainstream school with a speech and language unit and has an EHCP.

Hi ValpolicellaPrimitivo Can you please let me know if you had any intervention lto regain speech also did you change diet or added specific supplements. My daughter started regression at 2.2 months and I am worried how to get her back to speed.

Youngest DS had speech regression aged 2 (from about 50 words to non verbal) and has just started using single words again aged 5. I genuinely thought he'd never speak again.
