Didn’t notify tax credits for a change in circumstances for 6 months due to stupidity. What happens now?

I’ve just filled out my tax credit form and I updated the part where the DLA has been stopped in January.
I was trying to get help filling out forms, the family liason officer I was referred to was only interested in upscaling my case to social services (we are over crowded, and my other son had mh problems, clutter (due to over crowding)) so kept delaying and delaying the form, then at the meeting told me that she was upscaling it and to Seek help from elsewhere.
I tried to seek help from Sendiass but we had Covid and lock down and everything went tits up.

I’m scared I am going to prison for benefit fraud. My son still has autism and is 2 years below his piers and has a slightly lower iq than kids his age, so he is still “disabled”. He is 11.

Any advice?

How come DLA stopped? Did your son's needs improve significantly? Just ring Tax Credit Office and tell them. Worked at the CAB and this is very common. Any overpayment is usually taken off future tax credit payments.
