dd has a global delay in both speech and mobility and poor balance cannot stand unaided. She bum shuffles though. She can say a few words but not very clearly.Still waiting for a diagnosis. She has hypotonia, hypermobile joints, hand contractures is tall for age and has a small head size. She is 22 months.
She seems obsessed with reflective surfaces and will happily spend ages "talking" to herself in the mirror. She also loves water, does lots of hand clapping and flapping. She is a delight, really. She only has tantrums (screaming fits) at bedtimes, otherwise a happy sunny smily disposition. She seems to have more understanding than she can voacalise if this makes sense.Does any of this ring a bell with anyone.I am awaiting SALT and physio, and she has just been assessed for the Portage scheme.TIA thanks

I think youve just described my daughter too! My daughter is now 6 and still undiagnosed though, so I do hope you get more answers than we did. No doubt they will test her for angelmans syndrome and various other syndromes all associated with the same chromosone.
By the time my daughter was 12 months, she was attending a conductive education nursery 2 mornings a week and this helped her and me.
Now she still bum shuffles at home, but can walk with her kaye walker, although we use the wheel chair on longer distances.
Does your daughter love music too? What about any other medical problems - does she suffer from reflux?
Good luck, mulsey
