Not sure if this is the right place to post but after doing a lot off reading it very common in younger children so hopefully I'd be able to get some help on here. My son is 6 years old has adhd, behaviour problems and possibly asd. Potty training was a nightmare and still is! He wasn't out off nappies in the day time till nearly 4 and a half years old. Finally managed to get him out off nappies during the day but he's never once done a poo on the toilet and is a poo smearer. (I'm getting help with that). He isn't constipated and goes once to twice a day in his underwear and he won't tell me he's had a poo and would be happy to stay in it all day if I left him that's if it isn't spread all around his room sorry for tmi.

He doesn't really squat/sit to poo he will stand up he's always done like this from the day he could stand. So I think this is part off the problem he won't sit on the toilet not even to pee! I have tried to sit him on the toilet when I know he's about to poo but this ended up in a huge meltdown. We have pecs card explaining about sitting on the toilet to poo. I have tried rewards. I fed up with having to deal with poo on a daily basis.

Have you contacted the National Autism Society for advice? Sorry I have no advice as I have no experience.
