I dont know if anyone else has this problem but
i find if i'm in a shopping centre with my daughter i get the most awful static shocks from both her and her wheelchair .
It drives me nuts, its something to do with the carpets in stores, the metal in the lifts, my footwear....etc..etc BUT i have now found a solution to this problem by going in to HALFORDS and buying a rubber strip that fits on to cars to stop you getting struck by lightning
You loop it around the bar on main frame at back of wheelchair and let it touch the floor.
WORKS A TREAT!.
NOW OUR SHOCKING SHOPPING TRIPS ARE OVER .
have any other mums had this experience?.

I find it happens most with the powerchairs, but of course, there is always the exception.
Of course you can copy it you're very welcome if it helps other parents i'm all for it!. I went to a motorbility exhibition a while ago and the rep was sooo excited to see my daughters rubber strip because a customer of his was always getting shocks off her wheelchair and had been trying for ages to remedy the prob so he could'nt wait to tell her.
What i do recommend though is that you advise the parents/carers to purchase 2 at the same time because they can eventually fall off in schooL/college.
good luck
