Ds has dyspraxia, and went up to Primary today. As he was getting into the car he told we 'I don't think I'm going to be very good in this school, mum'

Bless his little heart, I could have cried for him.

Anyway, I picked him up at the end of the day and he said, 'You'll be so proud of me, I've got 3 merit points already!'

And then, as if that wasn't enough, he read a whole reading book with me for his homework THAT WAS AGE APPROPRIATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was utterly gobsmacked!

Miracle of miracles!

Fantastic

Can't wait to get home to hear how DS got on - his first day in prep school [hopeful emotion]

And we had to cover his Hymn book

He was so excited!!!

Dd is an old hand at the hymn book thing now, after 3 years! And was less excited at the whole thing!

I didn't realise your DS was so young, martianbishop! I thought he was about the same age as my DS1!

He is 7, so it was his first day in primary, rather than the infants school. Dd is an old lag in year 6 at the ripe old age of 10!

Oh, okay, I misunderstood what you meant by Primary - he's only a year younger than DS1, in fact.

They move site when then go from year 2 to year 3. The school day is also much more ordered, and they have different teachers for each subject, and are expected to move from room to room.....quite daunting for ds.

He will be getting 10 hours of 1 to 1 support, which is a blessing. (thanks to the RAF!)
