Hi all!
My son has been 'different' since he was about 7 months and since around 2.5, signs of behavioural issues have been appearing and over the last 3-6 months they've been increasing in severity, rapidly. His preschool have recommended we see a GP as they're concerned with his behaviour and said they're seeing ADHD type signs. We visited the GP last night who said he needs a referral and has a lot of 'obvious' ADHD markers, some on the serious end of the scale in his opinion. I've got to get the school to write a report and send through and then the referral will be sent where it needs to go. He got to see him in his full hyper state, not the aggression etc so could obviously only go on our examples of those, but I think from the behaviour he witnessed himself, it's quite obvious it's not just 'normal' 4 year old behaviour.
Just wondering if anyone else has been here with a child as young as this and how things went for them?
His behaviours are to the point now where I'm seriously struggling to handle him most of the time. I know we're likely to be fobbed off by paediatrics/children's services or wherever this referral goes, because of his age, but his physical aggression and impulsiveness and lack of danger perception are increasing at an alarming rate. I'm concerned for his and his siblings safety, so I'm really hoping they'll take us seriously. If he get's worse at the speed he is now, I just don't know how he and we will cope.
