My neighbour’s daughter is 10 and is autistic. She is always chatting to me and persistently asks to come into my house. I like her and would like to invite her in however her father (no mum around) seems to have some type of special need too. He cannot control her too well and normally just shouts at her. If I invite her in I suspect I would be on my own. I have read a lot about autism and I am prepared to deal with it. I really like her and I wanted to show her that she can be my friend. Am I being silly? Would it be possibly dangerous to her or to me? My idea is to do it when my kids are not around as my youngest is only three and probably would make it harder for everyone.
