Dear Mumsnetter Flowers

I need to stop worrying and work harder AngrySadBlush

Some wonderful mums on this forum are just Great in inspiring me BrewCakeFlowers to help my non.verbal autistic son to start talking.

I decided about a progrm of work and need your inputs...advice...ideas to make it more effectivd please.

So please advise me and share your experience.

Do you think i should do the following:

First and foremost: teach him gross motor skills...then fine moyor...then facisl expressions...then the latter with sounds (that he already makes).

  1. Gross motor; jump...sit...stand
  2. Fine motors: thump up...pointing ...
  3. Facial expression
  4. Mouth sounds?

This is an example of a wonderful mum advised me:

I would say “do this” then touch my nose.. “do this” and pat my head. Then “do this” and say “mmmmmm”. I did know he could already make those sounds “mmm”, “uh”, and “eeee” though.. so once I could get him to make the sounds on request I slowly moved them together “do this... Mmmm, Uh” “mm, eeee”..

Let m know plz if any other mum had a similar experience and advise me please. Sad

I will start today wofking on copying...and keep you posted Cake

Hopefully i could hear the word MuMmmyyyYyy Brew Cake
