LEA agreed to set up an asessment at the independent school we wanted ds to go to and its tomorrow.
he is so nervous, he has been packing and unpacking his dr who bag full of spongebob toys (if spongebob doesnt like it then im not going he said !!!) and continually asking me about the whereabouts of his bag.
Its such a big thing for him cos he hasnt been to school for nearly 2 years and he is extremely nervous.
i am as well for him but am hopefully not showing it to him, im just dreading him loving it and the lea making us go back to tribunal for a place which im really hoping they wont.

Hopefully if theyve agreed for an assessment by the school then there shouldnt be too much trouble getting the place, if the school agree to take your ds. We found with our ss that once the school agreed that they could cater for his needs and that he met their criteria, all we had to do was wait for a place to become available which took just over a term, but that was for a 52 week placement as he has a severe autism dx. The biggest battle was getting social services and the lea to agree to the schools assessing him. Good luck I hope spongebob approves!

Good luck to both of you (and spongebob!). Let us know how it goes. xx
