Found these american sites- and have a few excellent social stories....i know COPPERTOP was looking for this type of thing a while ago....something to help us write our own....also a great illustration of a morning planner....yep- i'm still trying to design my 'scheduler' for the boys.....and due to my own insistance that it is 'perfect' it has not got done yet!!!!

Blimey, MrsF! You've been busy. Yes, after the huge success of ds1's first two social stories I'm always on the lookout for more ideas.

MrsF, I knew it was you when I saw the title! you have been busy, I will have to find time to look at all of these, maybe I will print you out!

that sounds good- is it very expensive?
My eldest has aspergers/adhd- so has sequencing problems....and my middle son is likely to have aspergers...and finds changes to routines difficult...both also need help with social/feelings stuff.Ages 7 and 10

so we're talking clothes, clocks, toys, facial expressions etc

i suppose what i'd like is to have simple black and white pictures which i can colour....some sites have the clothes/faces etc pictures i want- but have the wrong colour hair/buttons etc!!!!

My youngest seems like my eldest so i can see me using the software alot...so may be good value for money!

I bought the laminator and 'stick-on velcro' ages ago...and planned to have all this in place by the time they started back to school ! Oops!

I think Clicker 4 is like Writing with Symbols but I think a bit cheaper.... Google!

mrsforgetful · 07/09/2004 22:56

....and i got a Jessica Kingsley Publishers catalogue/newsletter today....and there's a book about Aperger's (the taking things literally/metaphors etc)....still as i have said before...i like to spend a bit of our DLA on developing my 'resources'. Eventually i'd like to help others locally- so to get all this stuff can only be a good thing!

Yeah right MrsF, its not because you've got an (almost sexual) obsession with staionery.....

mrsforgetful · 08/09/2004 18:49

......as if!

Funny thing is....my husband's boss is as obsessed about stationary as i am! She recommends i get a SHREDDER as she says she finds it very theraputic! (do you reckon i'd get direct payments for one....as it could serve as a kind of 'Respite'....you know shreadding pictures i've drawn of my inlawas....No- that's Voodoo isn't it....not respite!

Thinking about it if i asked for it as a 'recreational gadget' for thomas then they might just fall for my scam....as i can quite easily see him sitting there all day shredding....least he'd be away from the playstation!!!! But scares me to think what he'd shred! (probably the wallpaper that alex has stripped off!)

MrsF is BACK!!
