DLA renewal 'asked us to look again'

DD’s DLA renewal was raised, it came back with the wording ‘you asked us to look again at a decision about disability living allowance... as a result we have changed the decision’. Has anyone else had this after a renewal application? It seemed strange wording, though positive for dd to have it raised and extended.

Yes. My friend who works for a care home recommended that we try to fight the decision. The trick is to get all the paperwork from the doctors and therapists involved and provide a lot of information. I sent off photocopies with our application form. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

It was raised in her favour, so no need to query it. Just surprised at the wording

It sounds like they've sent the letter template for an appeal instead of a renewal.

As the outcome was positive I wouldn't query it.

I wondered. They paid backdated from my ‘request to look again’ and extended it 6 years.

They've used the wrong template, they've sent to one they send for a mandatory reconsideration.
