Blue Tak, slime, play dough obsessed

DD (9.5) slow process of asd assessment with camhs began a few months ago. One thing I am really having problems with is the obsession the last few months with the slime/blue tak. I privately rent and carpets, walls etc are being wrecked with gloop/mess. And furniture/clothes too. It's a daily frustration.

I have all shampoos/makeup etc locked away now as she likes to add different liquids to get the texture she wants, even added nail varnish at one time Shock We've made home made play dough together, had an allocated area she can use it but it seems she just needs this throughout most of the day and it goes from room to room.

I don't know what I'm asking really, just if other parents have this problem and any ways around it. Will this 'need' ever decrease? I've looked into bionic putty (think that's what it's called ) and theraputty but don't know if these are any 'cleaner' or will give her the same sensory feedback she's seeking like the messy stuff does?

I find the theraputty much easier to deal with than playdoh or bluetak. Its not as sticky and has a pleasant smoother texture.

Also have the Theraputty, although it still gets on clothes/bedding etc, we have at least mastered the art of getting it out of them so they aren't ruined! Also, the theraputty comes in different grades so you can have really soft and squishy to super-tough. Grin

solidarity here. DS1 (9, ASD) is obsessed with Blu-Tack and fragments/lumps of it are all over the carpet. No idea how to get it out. I banned slime and the kids haven't asked for Play-Doh in ages.

googling Theraputty now. does it wash out? I spend a fortune on carpet cleaning products as it is...

Have you tried play foam? It's much easier to clean up but a very different texture
