Hiya

This will be my last posting/question for today anyway!!!!!

I have twin girls who are nearly three, one whom after being ill at 8 months now ahd special needs.

Is there anyone who also has twins who one has special needs?

I haven't met many Mums like this and would love to chat with some one.

I find it very hard as one twin is very behind but I have a constant reminder alongside of what she should really be doing.

HI there.

I don't have twins but I think there is a mum on here who does, one with special needs.
I think her name is rexandben
hope this helps

anniebear, it must be really difficult for you. I know alot of us on here have an older one with special and a younger 'NT - ie normal' child, and the younger one has overtook the older one. That is hard,so I know how you feel

Don't think its Rexandben. I don't have twins but I do know several people with twins, some both with ASD and a couple of with one ASD and the other not. Its not uncommon with something like autism as there is definitely a genetic factor. I wonder if there are any Yahoo groups for people with twins and one or both with SN?

Fio2......I can understand about your younger child overtaking the older one. It is hard isn't it?

I am ok with children Ellie's age but find it hard when friends have had babies whilst Ellie was 18months and they are going past her with their development.

Thanks again to everyone for your replies xx

hi, i've got boy girl twins who are 2 in a couple of weeks, and dd is special needs. Ds is far too text book for his own good! Contact me through " contact another talker", we are away for a fortnight from thursday though! you are not alone!!

Anniebear, I have twin boys who are nearly three, they both have CP and it breaks my heart sometimes when I go out and see other twins, running around, knowing that my boys should be doing the same. They are lovely and cute, and I'm terribly proud but I do find it very lonely having twins who are 'different'. So guess I know a bit of how you feel. Loved your website, tho. They are both gorgeous! Amanda

Amandamum.......respect, that must be so hard. Dd has special needs (medical) but in many ways outstrips her brother.......and boy he hates it, but its also hard to see her struggle with things that come so easy to others. Hope you're both getting some support.

Do you know what, luckymum, I've had more help from other mums than I have from anyone else! Didn't even realise I could claim DLA until three months ago! On my own with them but hoping for respite help soon - and well pleased to find this board!
