Just thought I'd ask here since maybe somebody has had some success. I only know of one other person who has glasses like I do, and she is in Ireland. Mine are ordered from the US. I went into an optician's today since my glasses were falling off and the screws needed to be tightened. They said to me to come in on Monday to get my eyes tested, and then they explain something and I didn't follow, but I think they can make my glasses. The only company that I have been told about who can do a very high powered magnification is Keeler I believe. But I have always been told they stop at 14 X.

Can somebody also explain, after you get your eyes tested, what happens then? They said something about a referral, a prescription, but I didn't follow.

It would be absolutely great though if I could find somewhere here that could make my glasses.

By the way, they are reading glasses. I only see out of my right eye, so it's a loop type of thing.

Hi! The only person I know who has a prescription that high wears a contact lense and uses glasses. That probably doesn’t help.

My husband gets lenses from Zeiss in Switzerland. They make microscopes and telescopes as well as glasses lenses. I think they do very high magnification.

Do you not attend an eye hospital? I would have thought that would be your best bet for getting suitable glasses. If you’re in London you could ask the optician if you can get a referral to Moorfields. www.moorfields.nhs.uk/ Or another suitable eye hospital.

If you can’t get a referral to an eye hospital you could ask the hospital where they recommend you go to get the right sort of lenses.

Hi, thank you both. Glitter, no I haven't been to Moorefield's. The last time doctor I went to was in Singapore when I was living in Southeast Asia. But they certainly don't make the type of glasses I have in Singapore. I have heard that's Germany Switzerland are quite good with making this types of thing.
