Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Would this be classed as ASD type repetitive behaviour or more OCD I wonder?

I’ve noticed that DD is now starting to have the same conversation each day with me, sometimes numerous times a day, about how long her hair is and how long compared to other people she mentions. I HAVE to say her hair is longer, otherwise she gets very cross! She will sometimes tell me what to say.

Today, I noticed this type of intense conversation picked up just before going to cousins for play date.

She also asks us lots of questions and we must answer yes or no or with definite answer and then she asks if it is a definite yes or no. If there’s any uncertainty or we don’t know, she gets really angry and can’t take it.

Anyone else’s little ones do this? Dd just turned 7. Under assessment for ASD, recently inconclusive so assessment continues and Paed appointment in Feb next year!

My ds (nearly 5) with ASD does this when he is anxious. He obsessively repeats words and wants us to repeat them back.
He seems to find it soothing, I think because the repetition is reassuring. Also he is managing to assume some control in a situation where he feels out of control.
