My DD was diagnosed with ASD a few months ago. She isn’t aware that she has the diagnosis, although she is very aware that she has “issues” – friendship & sensory issues, can’t handle her emotions & anxieties. I don’t think it would shock her to know, but I don’t know how to break it to her gently. She watches You Tube videos all the time. The paediatrician suggested showing her some videos of people she could relate to, to help her understand herself? Can anyone link to specific videos of girls of a similar age (9-ish) that could possibly make her feel like she’s not alone?
