Let's make the "Face Of Mini Boden" a child with SN

What do you all think? I've thought of this before but never got round to doing anything. I got the new catalogue along with the application form and info about the "Face of Mini Boden". It would be great if they chose a child with SN. Have to admit that I immediately thought of Lottie (TC are you there?). It would certainly challenge old Johnnie!
You have to send 2 photos, one full length and one close-up of child's face, £5 entry fee per child that goes to the Tusk Trust and all children entered must be related to you. Entry deadline is 19th December.
I assume full info is available on the Boden website or you'll all have got the application form with the catalouge (as well as a card with a story on it from a mum whose son took a liking to a pair of swimming trunks in the catalogue and totelly fell in love with them, all the mroe strange as he has autism!).

Great idea, Davros. I'm sure there has been a child with autism (HFA?) in a previous Boden catalogue tho. Just a guess but I noticed that there was one (gorgeous) kid whose eye contact/general comfortableness factor was way off every time he appeared in one that was out a few months back.

Lottie would be a great model, I agree.

Davros · 08/08/2004 22:26

I never noticed and I reckon I can spote 'em a mile off! I don't usually look too closely at the brats doing the modelling, just those lovely hotchpotch t-shirts.

Davors I am entering DD too with her Noonan Syndrome little face and body! She wears a lot of their clothes as they favour her petite sizing.
I think we should enter and also enclose a covering letter JB sounds like a chap who would go for this, if he even exists LOL

princesspeahead · 08/08/2004 22:29

he definitely exists!!!!!
and is just as you would expect from his catalogue patter.
v good idea. lottie has modelling experience already so would be a natural!

lou33 · 08/08/2004 22:30

My little lad is a poppet, but I don't think he would like strangers all about him.

Davros · 08/08/2004 22:48

Ha ha, mine would be a terrible model but looks gorgeous in photos. I'm tempted to send in an application, Trojan horse stylee! We should send loads! Piffleoffagus, ROFL about whether JB exists! I wonder if they'd show all the entries on their website anyway, whoever "wins"?

well Ientered ds age 10 last year who has child modelled with Models 1 (Kate Moss) and they said no, so am not sure what they really want...
Not really prof portfolios... that is for sure...

Piffleoffagus · 08/08/2004 22:54

ds aged 10 does NOT have a child LOl he WAS a child who was entered pmsl

Fio2 · 09/08/2004 06:09

we have problems getting dd to look at the camera so I dont think she would be much good as she would just please herself and not take a blind bit of notice of anyoneGrin

geekgrrl · 09/08/2004 09:14

dd loves having her picture taken - she shouts 'cheese!!!' every time a camera is in the vicinity... think I might have to enter her.

princesspeahead · 09/08/2004 09:19

ahem, piffle, sorry to pick you up on this but Kate Moss is, and always has been, with Storm, not Models 1... Storm rocks

Dingle · 09/08/2004 09:24

Would be great to see more SN kiddies in advertising. I'd love to go for it with my little dd, I do get the odd great pic, but usually she she sees the camera and comes charging towards my grinning from ear to ear, all I end up with is a bit of a blur.

aloha · 09/08/2004 10:47

I'm not at all sure that Boden clothes are cool enough for Lottie though!

Davros · 09/08/2004 13:43

Surely Lottie could pretend, just to get in there?!!

heartinthecountry · 09/08/2004 19:54

I'll enter dd - I reckon the more who enter the less they would be able to say that any of the children with SN just weren't right. Surely they would have to go with one of our (very beautiful) children?!!

Only problem with dd is the full length shot as she can't stand. But maybe that's the point - HER full length is sitting down.

Davros · 09/08/2004 21:55

Good, let's send plenty in and I'm not planning on sending any covering letter, let them find out as and when if it ever gets to it!

Where is the entry form for this?

Davros · 10/08/2004 12:15

I got it with the catalogue that just came through. WOuld have thought there would be info on the Boden website....

heartinthecountry · 10/08/2004 14:26

I couldn't find the info on their site (probably me being hopeless) so their customer services sent me this link

lou33 · 10/08/2004 14:31

Can I just hijack this for a minute, to post a link to the newest pic of my sn boy?

Go here , password is bolla. Click on photo gallery and it is the one of him in the sea. It's a major development for us, as it's the first time he has gone on a beach without having a meltdown . So obviously I am v proud.

Sorry, hijack over!

Fio2 · 10/08/2004 14:55

aww lou he is gorgeous, love the new wheelchair too Smile your lounge looks very posh!

geekgrrl · 10/08/2004 15:54

lou they're all beautiful children - and what a funky wheelchair! Lovely pic of your little ds and what a great achievement the kneeling is.

Bunglie · 10/08/2004 15:59

Awe! I'm feeling broody now, they are scrummy mummy!

lou33 · 10/08/2004 16:14

It looks posh until you get close up and see the unhoovered floor and mess under the sofa!

Thanks for your lovely posts, will let you get back on track now

Jimjams · 10/08/2004 20:23

Well totally biased opinion but ds1 is a pretty handsome chap (and I would love some Boden clothes- does the winner get them?). he doesn't look at all SN though and I can imagine the photographer would be in shock after a day with him.

In the same sort of vein, my friend is quite tempted to enter her SN dd for a supernanny type programme.
