Almost 7yr old touching bottom and sniffing...? Sorry tmi!

Why does our DD do this?!! She touches her bits/bottom while we have bedtime stories and it’s not nice!!

Is this behaviour seen in ASD/adhd? I’m gussing soothing/sensory?

I would consider it not unusual. Unpleasant perhaps, but not unusual.

As in not unusual in many neurotypical children around this age or not unusual in children on the spectrum? Always at story time!! And not sneakily, blatantly!!

Also other times too, at home.

My nt daughter aged 6 does this, I've never thought it too unusual.

My NT DD of 6 plays with her bits quite blatantly, whenever she can. Bath, TV, stories...

I’m not worried now but I do wonder how driven by sex she’ll be as a teen and that does make me a bit worried.

Yup. Sensory and soothing. At the moment we are being treated to obsessive hand licking and tasting drops of wee. In my experience ( professional and parental), the less attention paid, the quicker it goes away. I do sometimes make mention of 'germs' but only to placate my sense of parental duty, it makes not the faintest jot of difference.

Oh god, I used to do that when I was about 6/7, I am neurotypical.
