It's coming up to one of those family times of the year (Easter) and I'm dreading my son and nephew meeting up. Its literally like clash of the Titans. They are so similar and yet so different, they drive each other absolutely mad. One has and an auditory processing disorder and ADHD and the other is on the spectrum. They are both 9 and only a month apart in age. They just find it so difficult to tolerate one and other. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has any positive experiences and can tell me theres light at the end of the tunnel as family functions at the moment are a nightmare 😂

Ds1 (9) has adhd and ds2 (nearly 7) has asd. Ds1 winds ds2 up as no one else can and gets him to explode - it would be pretty impressive if it wasn't so awful. I often have to send ds1 upstairs as his manic behaviour flips ds2. It's much better when ds1 has his meds, he's a different boy and much kinder to other people. Iv found controlled situations work the best so supervised board games, video games, craft stuff - weirdly mine have developed a thing for cross stitch Grin

Ipads can be a lifesaver as they can play online stuff together like minecraft or roblox in the same room but have their own space
