30hrs preschool and carers allowance

Just been granted DLA for dd, which should result in me getting carers for her (just applied awaiting outcome). If the carers allowance comes through, can I then get 30hrs preschool (FEEE) for DS? Without carers I don't earn enough to qualify, DH is earning enough.

My DD gets free 2-year funding because she's get DLA. DWP referred straight to LA who contacted me so can't see why this wouldn't extend to pre-school 30 hours. Contact SEN department at local authority who should give some more accurate advice.

Yep - if your partner works and you get CA, your child is entitled to the 30 hours. When I applied, there was some sort of glitch on the website, suggesting that I wasn’t entitled because CA is below the earning threshold - hopefully this has been fixed by now - but I called the helpline and they processed my application down the phone instead.
